Jan Vermeulen - The Miller from Flanders was one of the relatively few feature films to be made for propaganda purposes. It was designed to play to the emotions of the audiences by showing a simple, yet dramatic, plot. The film, made by Georg Jacoby, was initially targeted at at the Flemish in occupied Belgium. As is evident from Bufa reports, it was screened in other neutral countries.
