Newspaper advert for the French propaganda film screened in the Netherlands

French propaganda films were screened on a regular basis in the Netherlands. The circulation of French war propaganda was facilitated by the presence of a branch of Pathé Frères located in Amsterdam that was able to screen French films and war journals throughout the war, much to the dismay of the German envoy. Despite many German attempts to hinder the circulation of French film propaganda, including buying off copies of the films, French productions continued to enter into the Netherlands throughout the war years and enjoyed great popularity.
